Alpha Phi Alpha promotes academic excellence and uplifting our communities.

The Beta Kappa Lambda Book Stipend Award is a $500 stipend awarded to graduating African American Male High School Seniors.

Eligibility

Candidates for the BKL Book Stipend Award must meet all of the following criteria:

Must be a graduating high school senior with a GPA of 2.5 or better.
Must be a African American male student who has applied to one or more accredited colleges or universities.
Must Attend Beta Kappa Lambda Chapter's Annual Founders' Day Program to receive the award. (In extenuating circumstances, an immediate family member may receive the award on behalf of the recipient. Prior notice is appreciated.)

*Letter of Recommendation from a school official (Principal, Guidance Counselor, Teacher)

Deadline:

Applications must be received by November 5 for award consideration. A representative of Beta Kappa Lambda will contact Book Stipend winners.

Selection Criteria:

Beta Kappa Lambda Chapter and the Book Stipend Committee will base its decision on the following standards:

Awards:

Four (4) - $500.00 Book Stipends
Awards are made only on a one-time basis. Book Stipend winners will not be eligible for future consideration.
Award will only be disbursed to recipients after all required documents have been received by June 30. After this date, the award will be forfeited.
